Miami - Conill was among the top performing U.S. agencies at the 2013 Festival Iberoamericano De La Publicidad (FIAP), earning 5 awards. The agency also took home honors at the U.S. Idea Awards and the Hispanic Media Planning Excellence Awards, both held during the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA) annual conference. All of the festivals were held April 29 - May 1 in Miami, Fl.
"Headlines from the Sky" for Toyota's Tundra was Conill's most celebrated effort, winning a gold award and the Grand Prix in the Out of Home category at FIAP. It also earned a bronze award in the media innovation category and was named "Copa De Iberoamerica," a distinction reserved for advertising that is considered by judges to be the best among all gold award-winners.
"Headlines from the Sky" was based on the historic return of the space shuttle Endeavor to its final home at the California Science Center in Los Angeles. To celebrate the event, a Toyota Tundra helped tow the American icon through the streets of Los Angeles. "Headlines from the Sky" took advantage of a unique media opportunity by capitalizing on the aerial media coverage of the shuttle's arrival and its journey through the streets of Los Angeles. Very large signs were erected and strategically placed on rooftops along the Endeavour's path, with the objective of being "seen" by news helicopters that surrounded the event.
