Puerto Rico - Badillo
Saatchi & Saatchi obtained eight Sun awards (1 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze)
at FIAP 2014, the top winner from Puerto Rico for the second consecutive year
at this festival and the second in Ibero
America in radio. No other agency from
Puerto Rico won awards in radio. The 45th version of the Ibero American
Advertising Festival was held from April 28-30 in Miami. FIAP
is the most prestigious creative competition in the Hispanic world, where the leading agencies from Latin America, Spain,
Portugal and the U.S. Hispanic Market compete.
A
Gold Sun was awarded to the Toyota Parts & Service campaign’s “Operation” comercial
in the Automotive category, and that campaign’s “Office” spot obtained a Silver
Sun. Silver Suns were also given to Toyota Parts & Service (“Operation”,
“Office”, “Beach”, “Theatre”) and the Puerto Rico Horror Film Festival (“Tow
Truck”, “House”) campaigns in the Product Campaign category, as well as to the
“House” spot of the latter campaign in the Recreation & Leisure
category. Bronze Suns were won by the
“Beach” spot of the Toyota Parts & Service campaign in the Automotive
category, by the “Tow Truck” commercial of the Puerto Rico Horror Film Festival
campaign in Recreation & Leisure, and by the “Chinese Curse” spot for
Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Strips product in the Restaurant category. Toyota Parts
& Service campaign’s “Theatre” commercial was a Finalist in the Automotive
category.
Erasto Freytes, President of
Badillo Saatchi & Saatchi, commented: “I can’t hide my immense joy and
satisfaction at having received the largest number of awards for the second
year in a row of all the agencies from Puerto Rico which participated at FIAP. I
am terribly proud of the work, the passion and the commitment of our creative
department in generating ideas which transform our clients’ businesses, working
hand in hand with the account service team and the rest of the agency in
building Lovemarks. We are deeply
thankful to our clients for their support and for championing our ideas. These awards also belong to them.”
To this, Juan Carlos
Rodríguez, Badillo’s Chief Creative Officer, added: “It’s very difficult to win
in an international competition such as FIAP.
Having obtained 8 metals and one Short List is a great recognition. It is very gratifying and quite stimulating because
we have been the top winner in Puerto Rico for the second consecutive year. Consistency is quite an achievement for an
agency to accomplish. We were the second
best agency in Ibero America in Radio, receiving the same amount of metals as
the top winner in the category. It is a
great achievement for Puerto Rico as well.
At the end of the day, the most important award for an idea is to help
the brands and it is towards that goal that we aim our work. Competing in festivals is a means for
improvement. Nothing less, nothing
more.”
