New York, New York - March 5, 2007 -- Advertising Women of New York (AWNY) will honor Mary Baglivo, Chief Executive Officer - New York and Worldwide Marketing Director at Saatchi & Saatchi, with its "Advertising Woman of the Year" award.
The honor recognizes a woman who has contributed the most to the field of advertising during the past year, and who has also made a positive difference in the community. It will be presented to Ms. Baglivo at an industry-wide luncheon in New York City on March 27, 2007.

"Her exceptional leadership and business acumen is matched by a deep commitment and a passion for inner-city student causes. It's quite evident that these many contributions on both a professional and personal level are making the world a better place."
AWNY has been honoring women for their commitment to the advertising field with this award since 1965. Previous honorees include Shelly Lazarus, Chairman and CEO, Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide; Linda Kaplan Thaler, CEO and Chief Creative Officer, The Kaplan Thaler Group; Dawn Hudson, President & CEO of Pepsi-Cola North America, PepsiCo, Inc.; and Cindy Gallop.

Baglivo is responsible for the flagship office in Saatchi & Saatchi's global network and has been a key driver in the company's recent string of successful new business wins. She has a seat on the Worldwide Executive Board and currently works with the top clients including: P&G, General Mills, Wendy's and JCPenney. Her number of impressive leadership positions range from CEO of Euro RSCG Tatham in Chicago to COO of J. Walter Thompson to President of Arnold Worldwide/New York.

Baglivo graduated Phi Beta Kappa and cum laude from Rutgers University and now serves on their Board of Overseers. She earned a masters degree from Northwestern before launching a career that has been marked by numerous prestigious accolades, including: AAF's Hall of Achievement, Advertising Age's Woman to Watch, and Today's Chicago Woman "100 Woman Who Make A Difference."
In addition, she serves on the Boards of Ad Council, American Advertising Federation, Advertising Club of New York (Executive Chair), and the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA). Married and the devoted mom of two teenagers, Baglivo continues to strike balance in her life while championing the causes she cares about - children, diversity and creativity. She is actively involved in the Harlem School of the Arts and was recently given their "Corporate Citizen" Award. She also sits on the Board of Trustees for The Kids Corporation of Newark.
