BEIJING - Dean Sciole, Saatchi & Saatchi’s Head of Planning for China, is taking on a new role as Executive Creative Director of the Saatchi & Saatchi Beijing office, effective June 1
st.
Dean began his career at Saatchi & Saatchi in 1994 as a copywriter in Taiwan, where he worked under creative giants including David Droga and Craig Davis. He later moved to China to become a strategic planner, and was one of the founders of XploringTM- Saatchi & Saatchi’s proprietary approach to gaining consumer insights, an approach that is now ingrained into all the Network’s offices worldwide.
While seen as a bold move that will no doubt spark debate in the industry, Dean’s mandate is not just to inspire the best creative work, but also to champion the seamless integration of digital into everything Saatchi does.
Edmund Choe, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer for Greater China, said, “When I first met Dean I was impressed by his intense passion for creativity. I was even more impressed when I found out that he was the Planning Director. There are many brilliant strategists out there but few are infused with creativity. Dean Sciole is a creative purist at heart – and that I believe will make him an inspiring creative leader.”
Charles Sampson, CEO Saatchi & Saatchi Beijing, agrees. “Dean is one of the most creative people I have ever worked with,” he said, “and our clients will benefit hugely from his unique and special blend of creativity and strategic savvy. He is also passionate about digital which is becoming more and more important for our clients.”
“I am a passionate believer in consumer driven ideas, and an equally passionate believer that ideas should live everywhere, regardless of the medium,” Dean commented. “Only then will we truly wed creativity and effectiveness in what we do.”
