LONDON - Saatchi & Saatchi London has hired creative duo Rob Potts (copywriter) and Andy Jex (art director) as deputies to the Creative Partners Kate Stanners and Paul Silburn.
Potts and Jex, who will have Creative Director titles, are expected to join Saatchi & Saatchi in April from Mother London where they have worked for the last five years. At Mother, the pair were most famous for their pitch-winning Stella Artois work last year, the Pot Noodle campaign featuring Welsh miners and award-winning work for Zoo magazine.
Prior to joining Mother, the pair were at Fallon London for five years where they picked up two D&AD yellow pencils, for BBC Radio 1Xtra streetmusic and Sony Walkman. They were Fallon's first ever creative hiring when they joined from BMP DDB.
During their careers, they have also won awards for Supernoodles, Xfm, Walkers, Nando's and Timex.
At Saatchi & Saatchi, Potts and Jex will work on Cadbury and other clients.
Silburn said, "Rob and Andy will prove to be a great asset. Personally I've been wanting to work with them for several years as I've always been impressed by their fresh thinking, their versatility and attention to detail. They're a very rounded and intelligent team which also proves looks can be deceiving."
Potts and Jex said, "It was always going to take something special for us to leave Mother. With the energy of the new management team it's beginning to look exciting again at Saatchi & Saatchi. This opportunity gives us a chance to grow and become a part of it. We had a placement at Saatchi's once. If that pool table's still there, we hope we're not sitting under it again."
The pair's client experience also includes VW, BBC, Boots, Coca Cola, I Can't Believe it's Not Butter, Post Office, Powerade and Yell.com.
The appointment reinforces Saatchi & Saatchi's stated ambition of championing creativity.
