London - Saatchi & Saatchi has created its first
campaign for Richmond Sausages since being awarded the account by Kerry Foods
last year.
Launching on Saturday 15th February,
the ‘Richmond Peacekeeper’ TV ad sets out to reconnect the brand with families
across the UK who love Richmond sausages for their universally appealing taste
and no bits texture.
The ad depicts the reality of family life
and the challenges mum and dad face at mealtimes. If there’s something the kids
don’t like on the table, a minor war can break out, but when parents serve up a
family favourite, the whole family can enjoy their meal together.
The ad stars the Richmond Peacekeeper
character, a personification of the Richmond brand, who helps parents bring
peace to family meal times with the taste that everyone loves.
Helped by his accomplice, the dove, he
enters the mayhem of an everyday family, produces a pack of Richmond sausages
and cooks them on his hi-tech portable stove - and peace breaks out. Job done,
he packs up his kit and moves onto the next.
April Redmond, Chief Marketing Officer,
Kerry Foods says: "Richmond is a tasty, succulent sausage loved
by the whole family. In fact, Mums tell
us that Richmond night is one of the most peaceful, happy nights of the week
because everyone, from the oldest to the youngest, just loves the taste. Saatchi & Saatchi have helped us bring
this brand benefit to life in an entertaining and original way; and we are
hopeful that this advertising will help us grow the brand and bring the great
taste of Richmond to more British families."
Paul Silburn, Creative Partner, Saatchi
& Saatchi says: "Peace at meal times is a promise which
Richmond sausages really do deliver on. My kids will vouch for that."
