MEXICO CITY - Sergio Romo Muriel has become President and General Manager of Saatchi & Saatchi Mexico. He takes over from Jose Antonio Cabrera, who has returned to the USA to pursue other interests.
Romo, who has more than 13 years advertising and marketing experience in Mexico, said of his appointment, "I am proud to lead one of the country's top advertising agencies, recognized both locally and internationally for its creativity."
Among his main objectives will be to continue positioning the agency as one of the most creative in the country. He will also be focusing on strengthening client relationships, with the goal of taking their advertising, communication and branding to the highest levels of effectiveness - to Lovemark status.

Romo worked for 8 years in marketing for Coca-Cola Export, and most recently as Brand Managing Director of Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma Brewery, where some of his main achievements included the development of campaigns for the brands Sol, Indio and Tecate, and launching brand line extensions Sol Zero and Sol Lemon and Salt, leading innovation in the Mexican beer industry.
Saatchi & Saatchi Mexico is a member of Publicis Groupe, and one of the most awarded agencies in its market. Among other awards, it won a Silver Lion at the 2006 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, as well as 2 gold and 1 bronze at the Festival iberoamericano de la Publicidad (FIAP). It was also awarded with the Circulo de Oro Mexico in both 2006 and 2007.
