Sydney - Saatchi & Saatchi Australia has won Sony's electronic business in Australia without a pitch. The agency will work on brands including Bravia, Walkman, Cyber-shot, Handycam and product launches.
It is a fantastic coup for our agency since the Sony account had been held by incumbent FNL Communications for more than a decade.
Tim Rich, group manager of corporate marketing communications at Sony Australia, said: "We did a lot of due diligence and it came to a point where I had confidence that Saatchi could deliver and I believe if it feels right, just do it. I don't think there is any benefit in wasting the time or resources a pitch costs from both an agency and client perspective when you know it's right."
Our CEO in Australia, Simone Bartley, said winning Sony was a great start to the year after topping the Agency Register's 2006 new-business league with $170m of new business. Here's to many more!
